Teatro Tango® - Workshop in Spain
with Jorge Aquista (Buenos Aires)
05. - 09. October
What is Teatro Tango®?
Teatro Tango® is an urban dance form consisting of elements of the movement and dance theatre. It is a dance taking care of the requirements of our time. Teatro Tango® of Jorge Aquista (Argentine) already exists since the eighties. It has its own place in the scenery of dance and movement theatre and has become a source of inspiration for new expressive possibilities. The workshop is meant for everybody interested in dance, theatre and movement and for all curious people.
What is waiting for you?
Teatro is expression, play, maintenance and fantasy.
Tango is nearness, distance, submission, domination and contact translated to body language.
The sensuality and ritual of the tango music will provide the setting for body play and theatre to explore your authenticity in movement. Movement and emotion will be one in Teatro Tango®.
In the morning we start by training perception, movement, breath and coordination.
In the evening we continue by training body and dance language, followed by a Teatro Tango dance improvisation.
What does Teatro Tango® offer to you?
Joy in your body in movement and in dance themes such as nearness, delimitation and contact with other people offering an opposite to you.
Extension of your expressiveness and perceptive possibilities.
The chance of further continuation weekends, which can enrich your professional and private perspectives.
Jorge Aquista has been working in the fields of movement and interpretative arts as director, actor and teacher of theatre since the late seventies. By the necessity to push creative processes such as perception and expression, and to bring fantasy and reality closer to each other, his artistic work left the enclosures of theatre and stage in order to give more quality and creative power to the everyday “dance“. Thus he gave birth to his concepts of “Alphabetisierung des Körpers®“ (Alphabetizing of the body) and “Teatro Tango®“.
Born and grown up in Buenos Aires, his artistic work took him to Barcelona, Rome, Stockholm, Hamburg, Berlin, Freiburg. At present he is staying supraregionally in Germany as a guest lecturer, among other things with his concepts of “Alphabetisierung des Körpers®“ (Alphabetizing of the body) and „Teatro Tango®“ as well as advanced trainings for body oriented teaching.
Since 2007 he is co-initiator and head of „T-Haus“ (T-house), a house-sharing working group for creative projects, situated in Heidelberg-Germany.
